A delegation from the Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) visited the head office of Ghana’s largest indigenous bank (GCB Bank PLC) on Thursday April 10th to officially invite the Bank to the 6th Edition of the bankers’ league.
This forms part of the association’s trophy tour to give participating banks and their respective teams an opportunity to view the coveted trophy. The league, which is scheduled to commence in June 2025 promises to be fun packed and will host over 20 teams.
“This is going to come home. It’s going to rest here. We are excited to be part of it,” said Emmanuel Odartey Lamptey, Deputy Managing Director of Operations (DMD, Ops) at GCB Bank as he received the delegation with excitement. He stressed on the importance of such activities to deepen interbank collaboration and team bonding and highlighted the health benefits of sports for bankers, especially due to the sedentary nature of bank staff.
The DMD Ops used the opportunity to highlight the Bank’s unwavering commitment to supporting communities through impactful Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), connecting the upcoming football league to GCB Bank’s dominance in the banking industry and contribution to the socio-economic growth and development of our nation. He commended the GAB for organizing the league and assured them of the Bank’s support.
